A very strong bullish optimistic perspective of portfolio investing. Realistic on how markets really work in past trends. To me most of these books deliver practical education and worth the reading considering all that he covers. Still leaves the the wanting of when is best time to invest and most importantly when to cash out and enjoy your living wealth/expenses, ins and out of cash flow returns for usage. One detail missing was what the investment vehicles to use to protect and adjust for market returns. At this point it seems Mr. Matson and ilk could only provide. This investment approach seems most pragmatic fitting my personality type (cautious and reserved), since investing is really, as he has made obvious, a relationship issue. What a powerful book. Every investor has needed this kind of frank, honest and open conversation about where returns really come from for years. I love the way Mark has tackled so many of the assumptions that so many people have believed about money, investing and returns for years. If you have any money in the market,are scared to get in or wondering if you should run to cash this is a must read. I know I will be giving this book out as a Christmas gifts to people I think need to learn the truth that returns come from the market and not the so called genius of the portfolio manager. In today's scary times so many people are looking for that quick fix and that mystical voice of calm to follow. Mark's book and advice actually has gotten me excited about the future and opportunities when so many others are trying to scare us to death.
Mark's book couldn't have come to me at a more opportune time. If you, like me, have ever wondered why one tv talking head an say their piece about investments, but on another channel (sometimes even the same channel!...sometimes even the same show!) someone can say the exact opposite, and wonder why they are getting paid but your investments are suffering....you need to read this book!
If you think...with all the technology on wall street...that you can move faster than the computers and all their fancy logarithms...and havent realized yet that you cant...and that thinking that you can is costing you money....YOU need to read this!
